This is an original piece by Talie, sung in Haitian Kreyòl. "Kè Poze" means "calm heart" or "peace of mind". We made this recording to enter NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest (2019).

Here’s a brief excerpt from a black pierrot, my thesis performance at the University of Maryland (2016). It contains fragments from two pieces: first, the final movement of Undine Smith Moore’s Afro-American Suite; this is followed by Margaret Bonds’s “Minstrel Man.”

Featuring Moriamo Akibu (actor), Kevin Jones (cello), James Miller (flute), and Ransom Woodson (tenor).

This is a cover of Laura Mvula’s “Sing to the Moon” (2013). I’m performing with my friend Talie, with whom I arranged this song (2017).
